Jumping jacks followed, her arms and legs flailing as she tried to maintain the correct form. Her breathing became labored, and she began to moan with the effort. She moved on to high knees, lifting her legs as high as she could while running in place. The burning sensation in her thighs and calves was almost too much to bear, but she gritted her teeth and kept going. Finally, she finished with squat jumps, crouching down low then leaping up as high as she could. Her legs shook as she pushed herself to jump higher and faster. Twenty minutes later, Diane collapsed on the mat, panting and sweating profusely. She had pushed herself to the limit and was exhausted, but also proud of what she had accomplished.
