Questions are swirling around the Dallas hospital that initially released the man who we now know has been diagnosed with Ebola. When Thomas Eric Duncan first arrived at the hospital he was showing obvious signs of infection. He even told the nurse that he had flown in from West Africa. Amazingly he was sent home with antibiotics. That created a two day window where he may have infected others. 80 people in Texas are now being monitored by authorities. Duncan who is now in serious but stable condition in hospital is the first official case of Ebola in North America. The US Department of Homeland Security has named Joe Clancy as the new director of the Secret Service. This after Julia Pierson_s resignation on Wednesday in the wake of the embarrassing security breach at the White House last week. Clancy a director of corporate security for the Comcast Corporation retired from his executive role with the Secret Service in 2011. Washington insiders say he_s the perfect person to clean up the current mess and get things back on the right path.And in Florida a Jacksonville jury has found Michael Dunn guilty of first degree murder. In September 2012 Dunn shot a teenager outside of a convenience store after getting into an argument about the teen_s loud music. Dunn testified that he had acted in self-defense believing his life was in danger. A jury in February was deadlocked over whether to convict Dunn but Wednesday_s ruling took only five hours of deliberation.
