The virus has already led to dozens of deaths and hospitalized thousands of others across the country. Medical experts are already calling it the worst flu season of the last decade. For a full update on the scope of the bug_s impact we_ll turn things over to Peyton Priestly.PP) Eila according to the latest numbers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 41 US states have now shown widespread flu activity. That_s a big jump up from 31 states last week. More than 22-hundred people have been hospitalized by the bug which doctors say is far more severe than last year_s strain.Hospitals nationwide have been forced to find extra beds to treat infected patients. And things are particularly bad in Boston where reported infections are TEN TIMES higher than last year.
