Hello everyone - I_m Laura Conner WELCOME to Naked News. We_re on the eve of a mammoth presidential election in the US and both candidates are doing everything they can to get some last minute votes. Senior anchor Victoria Sinclair has been following the campaigns and she joins us now for a look at all the last minute running around. Laura with just one day to go both President Obama and Mitt Romney put on a full court press in order to gain votes in swing states. The candidates - and their spouses and running-mates - all have last minute stops in battleground states that include Ohio Iowa and Colorado. Both candidates are bringing out the star-power to try and influence voters - Obama will be appearing with Bruce Springsteen and Jay-Z in Ohio while Romney will be at an event in New Hampshire with Kid Rock.As for who will win the latest numbers suggest it is literally anybody_s guess. The most recent CNNORC International poll has Obama and Romney in a dead heat with each getting support from 49-percent of likely voters. Eila Adams has been analyzing some numbers for us. What can you tell us Eila? As you just mentioned Vic it_s a dead heat and several other recent polls are showing similar results. In most cases no candidate leads the other by more than 3 points. However respected statistician Nate Silver claims that Obama has an 82-percent chance of winning. Silver gained prominence after the 2008 election when he correctly predicted the results in 49 out of 50 states.That_s pretty impressive but I take it not everyone is trusting Silver_s predictions.Well certainly not anyone on the CONSERVATIVE side of the equation. There are a NUMBER of sites that give a huge edge to Romney.We_ll certainly find out soon enough thanks EIlaVoters in the storm-ravaged state of New York may get a little extra time to head to the polls. The Board of Elections says that if less than 25 percent of registered voters turn out to the polls they may extend the voting deadline by an extra 24-hours. Organizers will make their final decision on election day. Meanwhile New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is urging power companies to make areas with polling stations a priority when it comes to restoring electricity. This comes on the heels of an announcement in New Jersey which allows residents to email their vote in if they can_t get to a polling station. We_ll have more news shortly back to you Laura.
