Poor Countess Ariel! First the indignity of having to sell the ancestral pile, Elpus Hall, and having to move into a mere eight-bedroom barn conversion in the village right on the road where everyone can see in. Second, the indignity of having some grubby little plebian men break in to steal the no-longest-existent jewellery collection, leaving her tied up in her own kitchen in disgust at their lack of earnings from the theft. Third, the indignity of actually having a kitchen of her own, instead of the bloody servants dealing with all that unpleasantness. Fourth, the blasted editor of the blasted village newspaper coming around and discovering her all trussed up like this, and the creepy little oik deciding to take photos on his phone rather than letting her out. And the final indignity? Realising that she had neglected to wear panties, and that the photos were going to be splashed all over the village news tomorrow morning!
