Sea Monster Got Me
The lakeside resort was deserted. Emma and her boyfriend thought it was just because it was off-season and broke in on a lark, the bravado of youth fueling their trespass. They didn't know about the monster that would rise from the water. It targeted the male first, claws ripping him open, bloody meat, dead before he hit the ground. Emma ran, seeking escape among the empty bungalows, but she was a stranger here, and these were its hunting grounds. Blind with panic, she didn't see it until its slimy arms encircled her and threw her to the ground.
