The deal could eventually pave the way for the removal of the 50-year economic embargo against Cuba - although that decision ultimately lies with the US Congress. Threats by hackers have forced Sony to cancel the release of The Interview the controversial comedy about the assassination of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The shocking decision was met with disappointment and frustration in Hollywood. Ben Stiller called it a threat to freedom of expression. Former Office star Steve Carell claimed the move was a sad day for creative expression. And Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin said the US succumbed to an unprecedented attack on our most cherished bedrock principle of free speech. The Interview was scheduled to open in theaters on December 25th but now Sony says they have no future plans to release the film and have pulled any mention of it from their website. So the question remains: WHO is behind these hacker attacks? It looks like we finally have an answer: North Korea. I know not much of a surprise. A federal law enforcement official speaking anonymously said it_s believed the attacks originated outside of North Korea but were sanctioned by the secretive state_s leadership in Pyongyang. FBI Director James Comey says the attacks are very complicated and investigators wanted to be absolutely sure before pinning the crimes on any one group. An official announcement is expected in the near future.
